DENPASAR, mybalinews.com – Bali will be flocked with international and domestic tourist during the Christmas and New Year holidays this year. At least 2.8 million will visit Bali for the holiday seasons.
“It is estimated that nearly 2.8 million domestic and foreign tourists will be on vacation during the 2024 Christmas and New Year holidays. And certainly, there will be extraordinary transportation movements from one place to another for tourists to enjoy Bali’s tourist destinations,” Bali Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Jansen Avitus Panjaitan said in a statement on Thursday (19/12).
He explained that these transportation movements would certainly cause disruptions to public security and order, especially traffic congestion in several areas including Kuta, North Kuta, South Kuta, in Badung Regency.
Panjaitan added that Bali Police have also prepared a strategy by deploying personnel involved in the special operation called 2024 Agung Candle Operation, in the routes and tourist destinations that will be passed or visited by tourists.
The Bali Police have also urged residents and tourists to avoid congested routes by using applications like Google Maps, to ensure that the traffic flow situation to be passed is smooth.
He also conveyed that Bali has experienced very extreme weather in recent weeks, with prolonged rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning that causing natural disasters in several locations, such as floods, landslides, and fallen trees, resulting in the deaths of two foreign tourists who were hit by a tree.
“Regarding this extreme weather, the Bali Police urge tourists who will be vacationing in Bali to avoid visiting disaster-prone locations, such as mountains, rivers, and locations with lush trees, to anticipate unwanted things,” he said. (mybalinews/KAD/ANG)
