DENPASAR, mybalinews.com – Ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays, Bali Police have urged tourists and residents to obey traffic regulations, avoid routes prone to disruptions in security, safety, and public order, and be wary of natural disasters.
Bali Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, said that the announcement was made as anticipation of the 2024 Christmas and New Year celebrations.

“As we know, the tourist destination of Bali Island remains very popular among domestic tourists from various regions and foreign tourists from various countries,” Panjaitan said in a statement on Thursday (19/12).
He explained that there will be extraordinary transportation movements from one place to another for tourists to enjoy Bali’s tourist destinations. The transportation movements would certainly cause disruptions to public security and order, especially traffic congestion in several areas including Kuta, North Kuta, South Kuta, in Badung Regency.
Bali Police, he emphasized, have prepared a strategy by deploying personnel involved in the special operation called 2024 Agung Candle Operation, in the routes and tourist destinations that will be passed or visited by tourists.
The Bali Police have also urged residents and tourists to avoid congested routes by using applications like Google Maps, to ensure that the traffic flow situation to be passed is smooth.
“Always prioritize safety, obey the rules and instructions of police officers in the field when driving for smooth and safe driving,” he said.
He also conveyed that Bali has experienced very extreme weather in recent weeks, with prolonged rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning that causing natural disasters in several locations, such as floods, landslides, and fallen trees, resulting in the deaths of two foreign tourists who were hit by a tree.
“Regarding this extreme weather, the Bali Police urge tourists who will be vacationing in Bali to avoid visiting disaster-prone locations, such as mountains, rivers, and locations with lush trees, to anticipate unwanted things,” he said. (mybalinews/KAD)
