
BADUNG, mybalinews – A foreign national from China has been missing after allegedly swept away by the current at Nyang-Nyang Beach, Pecatu Village, South Kuta, Badung Regency, on Sunday (16/3).
The victim, identified as Hu Xisong (69) is still being searched for by the joint Search and Rescue (SAR) team.
The incident is believed to have occurred around 08:30 WITA, and eyewitnesses reported that the foreign national was swepr away by a strong current heading east.

“We received information about a missing foreign national who had been swept away by the current at Nyang-Nyang Beach at 9.20 a.m, and we immediately deployed eight personnel to the location,” said I Nyoman Sidakarya, Head of the Denpasar Search and Rescue Agency.
In addition to the Denpasar Search and Rescue team, the search effort also involved Balawista Beach Guard. The search operation was divided into two areas. The land team conducted a sweep along the coastline from Nyang-Nyang Beach to the location where the victim was swept away, approximately 600 meters. Meanwhile, the sea team carried out the search using one jetski and one rubber boat.
“The land team is searching from Nyang-Nyang Beach eastward, the Balawista jetski is searching from Muaya Beach to Nyang-Nyang Beach, and the Basarnas rubber boat is moving from Pandawa Beach to Nyang-Nyang Beach,” said Gede Surya, the field coordinator.
Aerial surveillance was also conducted by the SAR team using a thermal drone, but no signs of the victim’s whereabouts were found. ( kanalbali/ERV )
