DENPASAR, mybalinews.com – The Bali Police are still investigating robbery case of Ukrainian national recently. Nine foreign nationals that are suspected as perpetrator was allegedly still in Bali.

Bali Police spokesperson, Sr. Comr. Ariasandy said on Wednesday that Bali Police still chasing the perpetrator. Ariasandy said that they were most likely still in Bali.

Police have also coordinated with Bali Immigration to monitor the situation and act if the suspects’ whereabouts are confirmed.

“It seems that they are still here. We can’t be sure, they could have already left before we coordinated. But most of them are likely still in Bali,” said Ariasandy.

He also mentioned that Polda Bali has not issued an Interpol red notice yet because they still suspect the perpetrators are hiding on Bali, and initially, the victim attempted to reach out to the suspects via their embassies or consulates. However, they were not cooperative and refused to show up for questioning.

“Yes, you could say they are hiding here in Bali. The embassy already tried to contact them, but they are not cooperative. There hasn’t been a red notice yet. We are just coordinating for now. If we detect them, we will secure them,” he added.

“It’s very likely they are still in Bali. If they were to leave, it would be recorded at immigration. If that happens, they will notify us, and then we will secure them,” he continued.

He emphasized that if the suspects’ whereabouts were confirmed in Bali, they would be arrested immediately, but their locations are still unknown.

“We’re still looking for them. We are making efforts to bring them in for questioning. The search is still ongoing,” he said.

Furthermore, Polda Bali and Bali Immigration have not yet imposed a travel ban, as the suspects named by the victim have not been confirmed as involved, and there is no evidence yet.

“No travel ban yet. If proven, we will issue one. For now, this is a coordinated effort, meaning if any of these individuals are detected at the airport, they will inform us,” he explained.

“We’ve been in communication with immigration, so if these individuals leave Bali, it will be detected, like when we recently apprehended someone, this was a result of our cooperation with immigration,” he continued.

Additionally, he explained that the reason the victim, Igor Iermakov, identified nine suspects involved in the robbery was because he recognized their voices.

“He said he recognized their voices, which is why he might suspect them. Even though he didn’t see them directly, as they were wearing masks,” he said.

When asked if the victim knew the suspects personally, the police clarified that they did not yet have concrete information, only that the victim recognized their voices.

“That’s why he mentioned their names one by one. Maybe he connected them based on their voices. But when he filed the police report, he listed the alleged suspects. Based on that, we are now looking for those individuals. That’s as far as we’ve gotten. We still don’t know the motive or how close the victim was to the perpetrators,” he said.

When asked whether there’s a possibility the victim filed a false report, the police said they couldn’t confirm that yet. The main priority is to capture the nine suspects in order to understand what happened.

“We haven’t reached that point yet. We still don’t know if the report is true or not because we haven’t apprehended the nine individuals,” he said.

Earlier reported that the Bali Police are investigating a robbery allegedly carried out by several foreign nationals against a Ukrainian national. The footage of robbery incident from car dashcam has also gone viral on social media.

The perpetrators are believed to be nine people, mostly Russian. They have robbed cryptocurrency assets worth IDR 3.4 billion from the victim’s account.

“Investigation are underway,” the Bali Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Ariasandy said on Thursday (30/1).

The incident was reportedly occurred on December 15, 2024. At that time, the victim (II), along with his driver (initials A), was driving a white car. Suddenly, while traveling along the street in Ungasan Village, South Kuta, Badung, Bali, they were blocked by two cars. An Alphard was blocking the road from the front and another one from behind.

Later on, four people dressed in black, wearing masks and armed with knives, hammers, and pistols, came out from the car. They forced the victim and his driver into one of the cars, handcuffed them, and covered their heads with black hoods.

The perpetrators then took the victim and the driver to a villa. Upon arriving at the villa, the perpetrators was forced to took the mobile phone. They then beat the victim to coerce him into transferring cryptocurrency assets to two accounts believed to belong to the perpetrators.

“The attackers continued to beat and forced the victim to provide his Binance account so they could steal the victim’s cryptocurrency assets worth 214,429.13808500 USD,” he added.

As a result of the incident, the victim suffered injuries to his right ear, both wrists, left hand, left eye, back of the head, and right side of the waist. The material loss was estimated at approximately IDR 3,496,790,194.

The victim reported the incident to the Bali Police for further investigation. The victim was coerced into handing over his cryptocurrency assets, and it is still unclear whether the perpetrators and the victim are known each other. (mybalinews/KAD/ERV)
