Koster, Giri enacted as new Bali leader

The Bali General Elections Commission (KPU) determined Wayan Koster-I Nyoman Giri Prasta (Koster-Giri) as the elected Governor and Deputy Governor of Bali for the 2025-2030 period, Thursday (9/12) -IST

DENPASAR, mybalinews.com – The Bali Provincial General Election Commission (KPU) has enacted I Wayan Koster and his running mate I Nyoman Giri Prasta as the elected Governor and Deputy Governor of Bali for the 2025-2030.

The pair was enacted in a plenary meeting held by Bali Provincial Election Commission (KPU) at at The Trans Resort Bali Hotel, in North Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali, Thursday (9/1).

Bali Provincial Election Commission chair I Dewa Agung Gede Lidartawan presided the plenary meeting. The meeting is also attended by Koster and Giri.

Wayan Koster and I Nyoman Giri Prasta won 1.41 million or 61.46 percent percent of votes, higher than competitor Muliawan Arya-Putu Agus Suradnyana. Muliawan -Agus did not attended the meeting. They were only represented by their team.

“Determining the candidate pair for Governor and Deputy Governor of Bali number two, Wayan Koster and I Nyoman Giri Prasta, with 1,413,604 votes or 61.46 percent of the total valid votes, as the candidate pair for Governor and Deputy Governor of Bali Province for the period 2025-2030 in the 2024 Bali Governor and Deputy Governor Election,” said Lidartawan.

Wayan Koster expressed his gratitude to Muliawan-Agus who have contributed to building a healthy and quality democracy in the 2024 Bali Gubernatorial Election contest.

“Mr. Made Muliawan Arya (De Gadjah) has congratulated me, via social media on November 27, 2024 at around 20.30 WITA after obtaining the results of the quick vote count based on polling stations (TPS),” said Koster.

“This attitude of sympathy shows sportsmanship, maturity and a strong commitment to keeping Bali peaceful and conducive,” Koster added.

Koster also said that after he was legally inaugurated as Governor of Bali, he would immediately work according to the vision and mission of Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali.

“Which is stated in the vision and mission submitted to the KPU and has been published to the public,” he said.

When asked whether he would invite the Muliawan-Agus to collaborate, Koster said there was no such thing as working together with mutual cooperation.

“We don’t have such a term, what we have is cooperation and mutual cooperation with all parties,” he said.

Regarding the infrastructure that will be worked on when he is inaugurated as Governor of Bali, he plans to design it with the Deputy Governor of Bali I Nyoman Giri Prasta.

“The infrastructure was designed together with the Deputy Governor, indeed, infrastructure is a very urgent need in Bali to overcome the problem of congestion. And, a number of infrastructure must be built towards tourist areas, congestion points especially in Denpasar and Badung, Tabanan and Gianyar are priorities,” he said.
