“Age is irresistible, we become wiser in seeing the situation,” he said when met on Thursday (2/1).

The 54 years old man said that hypnotherapy had saved his life when he was devastated by COVID-19. From the condition of being a successful tourism entrepreneur and continuing to develop his investment, suddenly he must be willing to let go of assets and lose all his employees.

It was even worse when almost the entire family was affected by the virus.

“Let alone for medical treatment, even for food is still lacking,” he said.

From there, he started using hypnotherapy to strengthen himself and his family mentally by using self-healing methods and strengthening self-motivation so that they remain strong in facing the situation.

“Looking back, I have actually learnt hypnotherapy for quite a long time although with different terms,” he said.

Since he was young, he has been pursuing martial arts where there is a forging to always strengthen mentality, self-confidence and motivation to rise from the worst conditions. The forging can even produce a special power that is often referred to as internal energy.

“Actually, it is also a hypnotherapy method so that our subconscious is always in that situation,” he said.

He cited a theory that says, 90 percent of human behave is actually controlled by the situation of his subconscious rather than his consciousness.

It is also the subconscious condition, he said, that directs a person to heal himself by ordering his brain and feelings to be in a positive condition.

“There are three keys, namely being able to recognize reality, being able to accept and remain grateful for the conditions faced or have been done,” he said.

This is not an easy thing. The memory trash is sometimes stored in the subconscious accumulating since a person is still in the womb.

“Even if Balinese people generally believe, they are the incarnation of the previous person and carry the memories of that person,” he said.

Various bad experiences in the past that are mismanaged, according to him, have the potential to become mental health disorders such as phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) anxiety, panic to gerd, and various other psychosomatic diseases.

The function of hypnotherapy, he said, is to awaken a person’s ability to do mind clearing by recognizing the memory, forgiving it and letting it go as a life story that must be released.

Then, that person can do mind empowering so that they become a ‘new human’ who is more open and objective in seeing reality.

The existence of a hypnotherapist is as a companion to guide them to achieve that by utilizing psychological techniques that can be learned.

Lan sees that the mental condition of the community actually really needs the role of hypnotherapists. The change in lifestyle to the digital era provides its own challenges because the difference between the virtual world and the real world is so different.

No wonder the disease of gadget addiction is increasingly widespread followed by various mental and behavioral deviations.

“Actually, it is a form of escape from the shame and present that cannot be faced,” he said.

Of course, people should not be careless when accessing services. To get a hypnotherapist license, he said that he must pass official certification by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP), while the practice permit is given by the Ministry of Health.

The owner of the Sense Hypno service is also a member of the official organization of the Indonesian Hypnotic Community Association (PKHI) and he is now the Chairperson of the association’s Bali region.
