BADUNG, mybalinews.com – The management of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, held a lively New Year’s Eve celebration at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali, on Tuesday.
The first passengers in 2025 warmly welcomed with rindik Balinese traditional music performances and Balinese dance.
The symbol of congratulations to the first passengers in 2025 was represented by the garland of gemitir or marigold flowers which are distinctively bright orange in color given to passengers of Indonesia Air Asia flight number QZ247 to Phuket – Denpasar.
At the moment of the turn of the year, the airport atmosphere also became more lively because of the live music entertainment and the appearance of a disc jockey (DJ) in the international arrivals public terminal area.

In addition to being entertained by Balinese art performances, passengers of Jet Star Asia flight 3K240 on the Singapore route who were the last passengers to take off from Bali also received New Year’s souvenirs featuring unique Indonesian characteristics in the form of batik-patterned fans.
The year-end gifts were handed over by the CEO of Regional II PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia Wahyudi, General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, along with all levels of airport management.
Ahmad Syaugi said that the evening event was designed to provide a different experience to passengers.
“The airport is not just a place where people pass through from or to the plane. We want the airport to also be a place where impressive experiences and memories are created,” Ahmad Syaugi.
Syaugi added that the management tried to make airport a showcase for Indonesian culture, especially Bali.
“Therefore, we continue to actively showcase the beauty of Balinese culture. Not only represented through infrastructure and interior in the form of Balinese ornaments scattered throughout the airport, but also by presenting live art performances like today,” he said.
Brandy, a tourist from the United States, one of the passengers on Qatar Airways QR963 to Doha, was seen enthusiastic enjoying the art performances presented.
“The dance is very beautiful. What I really like about this airport is that the location is very easy to reach. The hospitality and culture are very good,” he said.
Ahmad Syaugi continued, that in line with the company’s transformation program, he will continue to develop innovation and take proactive steps to improve services at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.
“Together with airport stakeholders, we are building a strong ecosystem, one of which is by developing a technology-based coordination path as has been running since 2024, namely Airport Collaboration Decision Making (ACDM) which aims to improve air traffic flow and airport capacity management,” explained Ahmad Syaugi said.
