Gov still ‘studying’ plan to build airport in North Bali

BADUNG, mybalinews.com – The plan to build new airport in northern Bali has become a controversial political campaign topic during the 2024 Bali Presidential and Regional. Now, the fate of the plan hasn’t been clear.

Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), said that the North Bali Airport project, in Buleleng Regency, Bali, is still being studied by the Central Government and there is special attention.

“We will continue to study it. I also recently received direction from President Prabowo Subianto, to really study well, imagining various factors,” he said, on the sidelines of a visit to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, Tuesday (31/12).

According to him, the government are still looking at the capacity at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.

“We will see what the capacity of Ngurah Rai is like and the projections. There must be a projection for the future, five years, 10 years, until 2045. In fact, we make a long-term plan that also accommodates the need for strengthening connectivity and including Bali,” he said.

He also said that the matter of the construction of the North Bali Airport is being reviewed properly regarding its study and involving all relevant stakeholders.

” The study continues to be carried out and this involves all stakeholders and the central government must also listen to input from the regional government and also between ministerial institutions that will support each other,” Agus explained.( mybalinews/KAD)
