Uluwatu Temple cliff project extended to January 2025

The inspection road for handling cracked cliffs at Uluwatu Temple, Bali is almost finished - IST

DENPASAR, kanalbali.id – The cracked cliff repair project at Pura Luhur Uluwatu, Badung, Bali was initially targeted for completion on December 31, 2024.

However, extreme weather has forced the project to be extended to mid-January 2025.

“It is now in the 22nd week and the position is at 70 percent. This is because extreme weather has caused several delays,” said Head of water resources section at Badung’s Public Development and Housing Agency (PUPR), AA Rama Putra, after attending the public consultation on cracked cliff handling of Uluwatu Temple at the Pecatu Village Chief Office, on Tuesday (24/12).

In order not to be delayed too long, the agency was trying to accelerate the implementation method, for example by adding heavy equipment, adding border stone and tetrapod deliveries.

“The point is that this method does not reduce the results of planning with the same rock density,” he said.

He said that currently the work on handling the cracks in the Uluwatu Temple cliff is being carried out in parallel or simultaneously.

Overall, there are four activities being carried out l, namely the construction of the inspection road which is almost finished along with the construction of the wave breaker revitment for coastal security.

“Thankfully, the revitment remains strong even though there are big waves,” he said.

This revitment will later be fitted with tetrapods as a defense layer. Another job is handling the cracks in the cliff where casting is carried out with special materials. (kanalbali/RFH)
