
SEMINYAK, mybalinews.com – A foreign national from Saudi Arabia was swept away by strong currents while swimming at Batu Belig Beach, Seminyak, Kuta District, Badung, on Tuesday (8 July).
The incident was happened at around 2.40 pm Bali time.
A search operation have being conducted by the The Denpasar Search and Rescue Office team until today. The victim still missing.
The Denpasar Search and Rescue Office received information at 4on Tuesday from the Badung Police Water and Air Police Unit.

“According to the report we received, the victim is identified as Alhawsawi Asad Mohammed A, 29 years old, who was temporarily residing in Kerobokan Kelod, North Kuta District,” I Nyoman Sidakarya, Head of the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office said.
The beach lifeguards (Balawista) had already attempted to search for the victim but were unsuccessful, prompting them to report the incident to the on-call personnel at the Denpasar SAR Office.
“Upon arrival, the team was divided into two Search and Rescue Units (SRU), which conducted sweeps to the west and east,” said I Nyoman Sidakarya.
They searched along the shoreline for approximately 1 kilometer, but the results were negative.
In addition to the joint SAR team’s efforts, the local traditional village held a religious ceremony in accordance with local customs.
As the operations are limited by visibility last night, the team did not deploy rubber boats or jet skis.
“Moreover, the lifeguards have already conducted searches in the waters near the victim’s drowning point,” Sidakarya added.
The results of the first day’s SAR operation were still negative. The joint SAR team have continue the search today. Agencies involved in the search operation include the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office, Badung Police Water and Air Police Unit, Batu Belig Beach Lifeguard Post, and local residents.
