BADUNG, mybalinews.com – Bali Police are investigating an incident where a foreign tourist was raped by ojek driver (motorcycle taxi driver) on the resort island of Bali.
The incident happened on New Year, only one hour after the new year count down.
The Bali Police Spokesperson Sr. Comr. Jansen Avitus Panjaitan said that the incident has been reported to the police on Thursday (2/1). Panjaitan said that police are still investigating the case.
“The Chinese national did report to the Police on January 2, 2025 and the police report has been forwarded to the Bali Police Criminal Investigation Unit,” Panjaitan on Friday (3/1).

Panjaitan did not provide any detail of the case to the media. However, from the information gathered, the foreign tourist from China was raped by ojek driver in Pecatu area, South Kuta, Badung, Bali.
JT, the victim, told police that the incident happened on the road side of Jl. Batu Kandik, in Pecatu Village at around 01.20 Central Indonesia Time (WITA) on Wednesday (1/1).
At that time, the victim and her six friends were going home from a New Year’s Eve event at Nyang-Nyang Beach. They used the services of a motorcycle taxi driver.
The victim and her friend got on a motorcycle taxi that was hanging around in the area. However, they took different motorcycle and going to their rented villa in the Labuan Sait area, Pecatu.
However, during the trip they did not move together. The victim was apparently did not taken to their destination. Because the road was dark and quiet, the victim felt suspicious and asked to turn back, but her request was ignored by the perpetrator.
When the victim tried to contact her friend by phone, there was no signal the perpetrator raped the victim.
The perpetrator had also robbed the victim. The ojek driver took the victim’s diamond bracelet from her bag and ran away leaving the victim. ( mybalinews/KAD/ERV)
