DENPASAR, mybalinews.com – Intrepid Travel has launched a day-long celebration of impact, a new concept aimed at rallying its staff, travellers and partners around the positive impact of travel in communities across the world.
Piloted for the first time in 2025, ‘Intrepid Day’ puts the spotlight on Intrepid’s mission to create positive change through the joy of travel by bringing Intrepid people together to connect, inspire and share experiences of using travel as a force for good.
Globally, the Intrepid Foundation tripled all donations made on the day to its 50+ partners, while free day tours were offered to travellers who booked directly via the Urban Adventures website for trips departing 26 July – 31 December 2025.

The Intrepid DMC Indonesia, Celebrated the day in collaboration with Scholar of Sustenance a leading non-profit organization focused on reducing food waste and combating hunger, the Intrepid team spent the day distributing surplus food to vulnerable communities across Bali.
This initiative was made possible through the support of The Intrepid Foundation, reinforcing our shared mission to help alleviate global hunger.
The afternoon continued with a beach clean-up activity at Sanur Beach, where Intrepid staff, local suppliers, and tourism stakeholders came together to collect 48 kg of waste. This collective effort not only contributed to environmental conservation but also strengthened community ties.
To conclude the day, participants embarked on a walking tour of Denpasar, immersing themselves in local culture by exploring traditional markets, sampling authentic Balinese cuisine, and visiting cultural landmarks. The experience served as a reminder of Intrepid’s ethos: to travel like a local and connect deeply with the places we visit.
Founded in 2016, SOS Indonesia operates primarily in Bali’s high-tourism areas, rescuing surplus food from hotels, supermarkets, bakeries, farms, and manufacturers. Using motorcycles and refrigerated trucks, SOS ensures that edible food is efficiently redistributed to those in need. In early 2023, the organization expanded its operations to Jakarta, aiming to partner with more businesses to scale its impact in reducing food waste and hunger.
All activities were aimed at creating a collective sense of pride in Intrepid mission and purpose, celebrating the community Intrepid has built through authentic connections and the cultural diversity of our global community.
