Meanwhile, four individuals had overstayed by more than 60 days and were taken into Immigration office.

“In this operation, we found two foreign nationals posing as fictitious investors. We will investigate their cases further,” said Acting Director General of Immigration, Yuldi Yusman in a statement on Friday.

Yuldi explained that one foreign national was detained for failing to present a passport, while the passports of seven others were seized for further investigation due to failure to report a change of address and misuse of residence permits.

Additionally, six other foreign nationals were summoned for further questioning regarding suspected abuse of their stay permits.

Monitoring in the Legian-Kuta and Pecatu-Uluwatu areas (Badung Regency) was conducted by the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office Task Force, focusing on homestays, villas, and hotels, with assistance from the Badung Regency Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), Pecatu Traditional Village security (Pecalang), and the South Kuta Sub-district Public Order Agency (Trantib).

Meanwhile, the Denpasar Immigration Office monitored the Pemecutan Kelod (West Denpasar) and Sanur (South Denpasar) areas, targeting boarding houses, homestays, villas, guest houses, and apartments.

In different locations, the Singaraja Immigration Office conducted inspections in the Purwakerthi, Amed, and Abang areas (Karangasem Regency), as well as Umeanyar and Anturan (Buleleng Regency), focusing on boarding houses, homestays, villas, and dive centers.

In addition to enforcement actions, the task force also socialized the use of the Foreigner Reporting Application (APOA) to lodging owners/managers at the 62 locations.

This application is expected to assist property managers in reporting the presence and activities of foreign nationals more effectively, thereby optimizing immigration oversight.

Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration mandates that lodging owners or managers must provide information about foreign guests staying at their properties if requested by Immigration Officers.

Failure to comply may result in criminal penalties of up to three months in jail or fines of up to IDR 25 million.

Minister of Immigration and Corrections, Agus Andrianto, stated that the Bali Becik oversight operation will continue to be conducted to create a safe and orderly environment, ensuring a sense of security for all parties.

“We fully support the implementation of the Bali Becik Operation. Immigration authorities will continue to conduct regular monitoring to ensure that foreign nationals comply with applicable laws and norms, in order to maintain security and public order in Indonesia, particularly in Bali. We also urge the public and accommodation managers to actively participate in monitoring foreign nationals,” said Agus. ( mybalinews/ERV )
