Five natural disaster hits Bali in a day

DENPASAR, myablinews.com – The heavy rain and strong winds occurred in Bali since Saturday early morning has caused several natural disasters happened on the resort island.

Bali Provincial Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD Bali) reported that at least five disaster hits the island within one day on Saturday (21/12).

Based on data compiled by the BPBD Bali and agencies across the island throughout 24 hours in 21 December 2024, several disaster that hit the island namely :

1. Tree collapse
At least four tree have collapsed in four area across Bali, namely in Tabanan Regency, Jembrana Regency, Karangasem Regency and Bangli Regency. The impact of the incident was zero fatalities/injuries. Zero estimated damage value.

2. Strong winds
Strong winds at 2 points, in Karangasem Regency and Bangli Regency. The impact of the incident was zero fatalities/injuries. No estimated damage value.

3. Flood
Flood at 2 points in Denpasar City. The impact of the incident was zero fatalities/injuries. No estimated damage value.

4. Building collapse

Building collapsed at 1point in Denpasar City. The impact of the incident was zero fatalities/injuries. Estimated damage value of 300 million rupiah.

5. Landslide
Landslide at 1 point in Bangli Regency. The impact of the incident was zero fatalities/injuries. No estimated damage value.

Based on the Early Warning of Weather and Climate for December 2024 from BBMKG Region III Badung, Bali has entered the rainy season.

Residents are advised to be aware of high rainfall that can cause flooding and landslides, BPBD Bali warned in a statement

With the increasing frequency of disasters, the Bali Provincial BPBD invites the entire community to increase their capacity and preparedness in dealing with potential disasters. (mybalinews/ERV)
