Immigration denies rumors that former Israeli soldiers managing villa in Bali

DENPASAR, mybalinews.com – The Class I Immigration Office (TPI) in Denpasar, Bali, has spoken out about a foreign national couple, one of whom is reportedly a member of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), who are allegedly managing a villa on the island of Bali.

The Head of the Information and Communication Technology Section of the Denpasar Immigration Office, IBM Suandita, denied all the netizens claim that one of the couple is a former IDF member who has become an investor in Bali.

“From our investigation, it turns out that the foreign national is a German citizen who entered Indonesia as an investor and not an Israeli citizen,” Suandita said in a written statement on Saturday (August 16).

He explained that the foreign national is not a member of the Israeli army. He said that the German man had previously live in Israel.

“Regarding the validity of immigration documents, there is no indication of immigration violations against the foreign national,” she added.

He stated that the foreign nationals entered Indonesia with German passports as investors.

“We must be careful not to misinterpret the information circulating on social media by law enforcement. This could impact relations between Indonesia and Germany,” he explained.

“From our investigation, we also discovered that they had previously lived in Israel for study and were required to serve in the military in that country,” he continued.

He also stated that it is strongly suspected that the photos circulating on social media are of them during their military service while living in Israel.

Earlier reported that a video went viral on social media, depicting two former IDF soldiers building a villa business in Bali.

“A former IDF couple currently in Bali, building a villa business there,” the account wrote.

Bali Police Public Relations Chief, Senior Commissioner Ariasandy on July responded to a video posted on Instagram alleging that two foreign nationals, suspected to be former members of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), were building villas on the island of Bali.

He emphasized that the police could conduct surveillance if violations, such as illegal villas, were discovered.

“The police have the authority to monitor and take follow-up action when violations occur,” Ariasandy said in Denpasar, Bali on Thursday (July 17). (KAD)
