BADUNG, mybalinews.com – An Australian man has been arrested for drugs possession in Bali, after he was caught driving without helmet.
The Australian man, Nelson Philip James (NPJ), was arrested in Pererenan intersection during police check operation on Wednesday (11/6) afternoon. If found guilty, he could face a maximum 12 years prison term.
The Narcotic unit head of Badung Police, Nyoman Sudarma, confirmed that police has named the Australian man as suspect. Police has seized two small pack of narcotic from Nelson, consist of 0.53 gram MDMA and 0.85 gram Cocaine.

Sudarma said that Nelson was arrested in a police street operation on Wednesday afternoon on Jl. Tiying Tutul, Pererenan, at around 4 pm.
Nelson was arrested when he passing by the street in his scooter with a foreign woman. He did not wear helmet at that time. Therefore, the joint police team stop him.
When he stop, he was seen nervous with his hand trying to grab something from his pocket. Two small packs of drugs apparently fall from his pocket.
Police immediately arrested him and took him to Badung Police station.
To the police, Nelson said that he got the drugs from a night club in North Kuta. He told police that he just found the two pack of drugs on the table in the club the night before. He had just tried the drugs on the club.
“NPJ admitted that he obtained the suspected narcotics at a party and intended to use the substance personally,” Sudarma explained. (mybalinews/RFH)
