DENPASAR, mybalinews.com – An Australian national man from Sydney could face a maximum 5-years prison term for allegedly assaulting security guards at Finns beach club, Bali’s popular beach club in Bali.

The Sydney man, MR, would be charged with article 351 of Criminal Code on assault.

Bali Police Spokesperson, Sr. Comr. Ariasandy said on Monday that police will charge MR with article 351 of criminal code on assault. “The article carries a maximum 5 years imprisonment. That’s why we decided to detain him,” Ariasandy said.

Ariasandy emphasized that police have collect enough evidence to name the Australian as suspect. The evidence is included the report from security guards that suffered severe injuries, suffered disable, and lost his teeth.

“We have statement from witnesses, visum et repertum result, and some other things that are collected from the scene,” Ariasandy said.

Regarding the brawl at Finns Beach Club, police have received two report. Both security guards and Australian have file report to the police.

The first report file to Bali Police, the security guards reported the Australian for assault. Another report filed to Badung Police, where the five Australians reported security guards for group violence.

“We proceeded both reports” Ariasandy said.

“Related to the report filed to Bali Police, we have named the Australian MR as suspect and officially detained him at Bali Police since Friday.” he added.

Earlier reported that Bali police are investigating a brawl involving foreigners at the popular beach club in Bali that has been recorded and went viral at video social media. The incident reportedly happened at Finns Beach Club, on Jalan Pantai Berawa, Tibubeneng Village, North Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali.

Badung Police Spokesperson, Second Insp. Putu Sukarma said on Wednesday (12/2) that the incident occurred on Tuesday (11/2) night at around 9.47 p.m. between visitors and security of Finns Beach Club.

From the statement of the witness with the initials WAJ, who is a security guard at Finns Beach Club, he saw one of the perpetrators or a foreigner who was a guest sitting at table number 401 strangling a guest sitting at table 402 because the perpetrator bumped into one of the women at table number 402.

Then, the witness and fellow security guards tried to break it up. But the perpetrator instead raised his middle finger at the security guard and was then warned several times but the foreigner ignored it.

Next, the witness and fellow security guards took the perpetrator out for causing trouble. Then the witness and other security guards led the perpetrator out of the nightclub area and when he arrived at the parking area the perpetrator began to rebel and started hitting several security guards.

Then, because the perpetrator tried to rebel, the security guard wanted to tie the perpetrator’s hands. But suddenly four of the perpetrator’s friends came and beat the witness and other security guards and after the perpetrators beat them blindly they ran away by running north on Jalan Pantai Berawa.

Meanwhile, in the incident there were four victims who suffered injuries from the security, namely the victim with the initials KBYD who had a broken lower tooth, a bleeding nose, a torn back of the head and is currently being treated at the Hydro Medical Clinic Bali.

Then, the victim with the initials GDW experienced swelling behind the left ear, an abrasion on the left cheek, and the victim with the initials LR experienced a bite wound on the left hand.
