BADUNG, mybalinews.com – A French man has died in a hit and run crash accident on Jalan Raya Canggu, Bali on Friday (17/1). The 25 years old man has died with severe head injuries.
Badung Police spokesperson Second Insp. Putu Sukarma said that the victim has at the “The victim suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene of the accident,” Sukarma said on Friday.
He explained that the incident occurred early in the morning at around 4.30 a.m. Central Indonesia Time (WITA). The incident was reported to police at 8 a.m. WITA.
The victim, a tourist holidaying in Bali, was riding a Honda Vario motorcycle with license plate DK 3850 AAH at the time of the incident.

The police first received a report from the public, which was followed up by the Badung Police Traffic Unit. They immediately proceeded to the scene, and from the traffic accident investigation, it was determined that the victim was traveling eastward when the accident occurred.
The victim was then hit from behind by an unknown rider, whose identity and license plate number are still unknown. The collision had dragged and thrown the victim from the motorcycle, while the perpetrator immediately fled the scene.
“The motorcycle and the victim were thrown forward and dragged. The vehicle (that hit the victim) then left the scene,” he added.
The victim’s body has been taken to the Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah General Hospital in Denpasar, Bali, and the police are still investigating the identity of the hit-and-run driver.
“We do not yet know the identity of the hit-and-run driver. The investigation is ongoing,” Sukarma emphasized. (mybalinews/KAD/ERV)
